Salute to Veterans, November 11, 2008

November 11, 1917, marked the end of "Mr. Wilson's War." "Armistice Day" became "Veteran's Day" to honor veterans of all of our wars.

Thank God for the American "Dough Boy" of WW I.

Shall Never Forget These Heroes of All of Our Wars Who Kept Us A Free People.

Three times in the gospels, Jesus said, And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (Matthew 24:6)

And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. (Mark 13:7)

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. (Luke 21:9)

.
Pastor Bulldog's father was an Officer of Field Artillery in France in WW I, and volunteered for the new Air Force Wing of the Army and crashed on take-off. But his guns "gave 'em hell" before he ended his air force career. Just before Pearl Harbor he was medically discharged from the Indiana National Guard with the rank of Colonel.
.
Pastor Bulldog was under age for the Navy in WW II, and enlisted in the U.S. Maritime Service, which took him if he could breathe and raise his right hand; trained by the Coast Guard, sailed in the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and the Pacific and later joined U.S. Regular Army.

And he shall judge among the nations,
and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4)
